If it weren't for Sophie Hendry tending goal in the first
half the score line would have been much worse. Sophie made
5 great saves to keep the score respectable. Ellie Walker scored
twice as Jenna Marchione and Melissa Lewis each added
solo goals.
5/6- Westwood does it again 13 - 2
The score surely does not reflect how well the Medway girls played
today against the number one program in the state. Kerry
Harrington scored the first goal of her high school career and
Melissa Lewis had a goal.
5/5- Foxboro beats Medway 18 - 7
Goal scorers for Medway included: Ellie Walker (2), Jenny
Woodcock, Sarah Coakley, Monika Horava, Sammie
Gignac, and Kasey Citron. Assisting on goals were
Monika Horava and Joanna Ference.
5/1- Westwood beats Medway 13 - 3
Katie Irwin, Melissa Lewis and Erin O'Connor scored goals for Medway
and Kasey Citron had an assist.
4/29- Medway beaten by Holliston 8 - 3
Sammie Gignac had a goal and an assist; Jenna
Marchione and Melissa Lewis
each had a goal.
4/25- Medway beats Oliver Ames 10 - 8
Medway goal scorers were: Chelsi Murphy 1; Melissa Lewis
2 goals 1 assist; Katie Irwin 1; Ellie Walker 3; Jenna
Marchione 1; Maesie Wieler 2; Sammie Gignac 1 assist.
Bryany Burke (5 saves) and Jen Ahearn (4 saves) shared the
goal tending.
4/22- Medway 10 - Nipmuc 4
The girls looked good today and had
the game in hand very quickly. Ellie Walker had 4 goals,
Maesie Wieler had 2, Melissa Lewis had 2 and 1 assist,
Katie Irwin had 1 and Jenna Marchione had 1. Erin
O'Connor, in her first game back from a pre-season injury, was in
goal for the first half and had 4 saves and 2 goals against; Kasey
Citron had 5 saves and 2 goals against. Both did very well in
goal.
4/18- Medway beats Medfield 11 - 7
Due to school trips and family vacations the girls were forced to
play with no substitutes on a very warm and sunny afternoon.
Monica Horava took a stick to the head and was not allowed to return
to the game (coach's decision). Jill O'Rourke and
Kaleigh Pavlik, from the varsity squad, pulled double duty and
filled the open positions on the JV field today. Ellie Walker
had another 4 goal game; Jenna Marchione scored 3 goals; Jill
O'Rourke had 2 and Melissa Lewis had one. Medfield
committed one own goal. Kerry Harrington and Melissa
Lewis shared the goal tending today and made saves when they
counted.
4/15- Medway beats Hopkinton 13 - 10
For the second game in a row Medway got goals from seven different
players: Melissa Lewis 3 goals, 2 assists; Jenna Marchione
2 goals, 2 assists; Ellie Walker 2 goals, 1 assist; Monika
Horava 2 goals, 1 assist; Jenny Woodcock 2 goals; Sammie
Gignac had 1 goal and 1 assist and SOPHIE HENDRY scored the
first goal of her High School career! Katie Irwin and
Kerry Harrington player well in goal.
4/10- Medway beats Ashland 12 - 4
The girls has their scoring shoes on again today in Ashland.
Ellie Walker had her third consecutive 4 goal game while also
winning most of the draws at center. Jenny Woodcock and
Melissa Lewis each had a pair and Jenna Marchione, Katie
Irwin, Keri Babineau and Maesie Wieler all scored
once. Monika Horava and Sammie Gignac played well in
goal.
4/8- Medway 10 - Dover Sherborn 11
Back to back games may have played a part but the girls really
showed well against one of the better programs on our schedule.
Ellie Walker pumped in another 4 goals, Melissa Lewis had 2
and an assist, Katie Irwin scored twice, Jenna Marchione
had a goal and 2 assists and Joanna Ference scored 1 goal.
4/7- Medway beats Oliver Ames 10 - 6
Ellie Walker scored 4 goals and added 2 assists, Melissa Lewis
scored 3 and an assist, Sammie Gignac had a goal and 2 assists,
Katie Irwin and Casey Citron each scored a goal.
Kerry Harrington played the whole game in goal and made some nice
saves.
3/28 - Medway 7 - Holliston 11
This was a good start to our season. The weather was cold and wet
but the girls played tough. Chelsi Murphy and Emma
Hendry shared the goal tending with Emma making 5 great saves in the
second half. Melissa Lewis, Monika Horava and
Ellie Walker each scored twice while Jenna Marchione scored
her first of the season. |
